25 Years providing football in the community of Bury
Bury Girls & Ladies Football Club started in the summer of 1996 to provide a group of girls with an opportunity to play football. It was just one team at that time. An association with Bury FC was formed and plans put in place to grow the Club. Several years later and the Club boasted girls’ teams at all age groups from U10s through to adult and became a big name in the region for providing a quality football provision for female football.
In 2017 we became the official grassroots arm of Bury FC Community Trust and in turn became Bury FC Boys & Girls as we now provided a provision for boy’s football too. This partnership continued to flourish regardless of the issues at Bury FC. 2020 saw the re launch of the charity as Bury Football Foundation and Bury FC Boys & Girls continued their partnership with the charity to great success. We are now in 2021, some 25 years later, with almost 30 teams offering walking, vets, disability and recreational football alongside our regular boys, girls, women’s and men’s provision. With this diverse range of opportunities, the words ‘boys & girls’ has become a little extinct and to coincide with our anniversary and to celebrate our ongoing commitment to the Bury Football Foundation model we are proud to announce we will now be known as ‘Bury FC Foundation’.
The term ‘foundation’ encompasses the collective opportunities we can offer and represents our place at the heart of Bury Football Foundation, as well as a term of reference linking the grassroots arm to the overarching entity of Bury Football Foundation.
Chairperson, Diana Golding said “We are proud of our partnership with Bury Football Foundation and what we can collectively offer the community of Bury down at Goshen Football Centre. We are looking forward to our future developments being put in place. That work has already started for this summer with even more improvements underway on site, but there are also many more to come. We are all about football in the purest concept. For all and for fun. The benefits that grassroots football brings, not only for the children in our society but to everyone is what motivates us every day”.

Football for All
Not only do we provide opportunities to boys, girls and women to play football, through our partnership with Bury Football Foundation we are able to offer football opportunities to those who can't follow mainstream football.
This includes our disability teams, our men's and women's walking football teams and our men's and women's vets teams.
There is no excuse not to participate in the sport you love.
At our club you will have access to quality training and opportunities to develop your football skills and knowledge. We also offer targeted training such as goal keeping. Alongside our training, we also offer the opportunity to play weekly fixtures in a variety of local leagues To support our football development we offer additional sessions looking at nutrition, fitness and injury prevention. We also hold many social events, including our spectacular Annual Presention Evening.
All our coaches and volunteers are approved through the FA's Annual Health Check and are licensed qualified coaches undertaking professional development on a regular basis
